Jules, now Kaila
Jules, now Kaila, may well have broken a world record.
Jules had been staying with our wonderful country foster carer, Jill. We finally found a Melbourne foster carer for her to stay with, to increase her adoption chances. We didn't count on what happened next. The day after Jules had been driven to her foster home, her foster carer called us. "We love her. We'd like to adopt her." Music to our ears. Here, her new family tells their story: "With two dogs and a cat, we already have a large family but decided that we had room to foster a cat. Having fostered several cats and dogs already, I am very familiar with the process and quite used to taking care of foster pets while preparing them to go to their new permanent families. I wasn't expecting to fall completely in love at first sight with Jules (now Kaila), which is exactly what happened. I live with my sister, brother and close friend and we all felt immediately that Kaila was meant to be a permanent member of our family, so we very quickly submitted our application to adopt her. Kaila and my sister share a special bond and, as she is clearly a homebody, Kaila spends most of her time relaxing on my sister's bed waiting for cuddle time when she gets home in the evening. She is a shy girl but she is slowly exploring her new home and building a bond with our dogs and our other cat. We can't understand how anyone could have given up Kaila, but it must have happened so that she could find her way to us. We love her so much already and we are so happy she came to us!" Another update: "Our other cat has now bonded with her and they play and sleep together and she loves our German Shepherd who is constantly licking her and Jake our Cabrador is also great with her too. We love her so much and we are so thrilled that she is now part of our family." And another: "Kaila is good - we love her so much! We (our other cat, two dogs, my brother, sisters and myself) have all bonded with Kaila and she is just the most beautiful girl, I am so very grateful that she came into our lives and that she is part of our family now. I have attached a picture of Kaila with our other cat, Milo - they are in love! Kaila sleeps with my sister who adores her and spoons her every night. Kaila is now loving exploring outside as well but she always stays close to home. She is a gorgeous girl and we are blessed to have her." |
